Trumping the cute card
This weekend, Winston made like Batman and faced his greatest fear: something arguably cuter than he.
At home in New Jersey for Father's Day weekend, we all met Rocky, my sister Kate's newly adopted 12-week-old kitten. If you want to be gay about it, that makes Rocky Winston's and Rudy's cousin.
Rocky has two modes: on and cuddle. The latter mode is rare, as Rocky can usually be found living up to his name, swatting, skipping and striking. But instead of flowing like a butterfly and stinging like a bee, Rocky acts (and looks!) more like a bat-monkey cross-breed.
Winston was all kinds of jostled by Rocky's presence...
...Rudy wasn't.
He saw right through the kitten act, knowing Rocky's days of oversized ears and saucer-shaped eyes are numbered.
While at the Humane Society with Kate, my mother took her bleeding heart into the cat room and came out with Loretta, a 4-year-old whose owner died in March. Loretta is obese. While her looks intimidated no one, her hissing certainly did.
With four cats in the house, it was a weekend worthy of a discount calendar.
Yay!!! Kittens!!!

I'm still waiting for a Rudy-only post!!

Rudy won't let me post anything without his clearance and lately he's been too swamped with paperwork to review a long post devoted to him. It's in the works.

Yay kittens! Indeed! I love kittens. I just want to eat their little faces.
Not that I would. I'm just saying...
