Yiiiiiiieeeeee!

It's that time again. God, it's always that time again! Not that I'm complaining or anything. Anyway, recaps, as usual, will be posted on Mondays. Except maybe not this Monday: I'm about to do some pretty intense traveling and I may get a late start. I'm going to do my best to get the recap up on time, but if I don't, know that it's on the way. Know that I wouldn't leave you hanging. I mean, how could I, what with this and all...

...y'know?

Monday?! I'm not complaining but I need your post for episode-closure. I think this season has completed the transformation from Modeling Competition to TV Show (if it ever really was a modeling competition): your brother and boyfriend are in IRAQ?! You are from SOMALIA? Tell us how you've been ABUSED?!
Tyra should have kept her prom-girl hair.

can't wait to see the gif of "Homecoming Queen" Tyra, drag queen extraordinaire.

Amy=Lisa
Posted by: steele | February 20, 2008 at 11:52 PM
As epic and wince-worthy as I expected it to be.
And the person above me is right, Amy is exactly Lisa.
Posted by: Sarah | February 20, 2008 at 11:56 PM
one of them bitches reminds me of michelle trachtenberg. aimee? i don't know their names yet.
Posted by: bryan | February 21, 2008 at 12:19 AM
I third that, Amy=Lisa.
Also, Stacy=Saleisha in that she will give me the throw ups with her ricockulous happiness.
Can't wait for the recaps, they have definitely become my favorite thing about ANTM.
Posted by: Alison | February 21, 2008 at 12:22 AM
Female circumcision--oh god oh god oh god (squeezing my legs together as hard as I can).
Posted by: Miss Lisa | February 21, 2008 at 12:51 AM
I can't wait for the recaps Rich! Markita... that crazy "stray dog!"
Posted by: h | February 21, 2008 at 12:58 AM
I love Fatima but MY GOD she needs to do something with her hair. She looks like the Crypt Keeper.
Posted by: Kitty | February 21, 2008 at 01:18 AM
weirdest first episode ever. they just get trashier and trashier...and weirder and weirder...
Posted by: J | February 21, 2008 at 01:34 AM
Rich,
I very nearly live for your recaps (and am loving the extra Rich time with Jezebel's 'Pot Psychology'). As folks learn how amazing you are, it is only expected that your posts on fourfour will not appear as quickly as I may like. Not that you need me to say this, but take your time and know that your fans will wait for as long as it takes for your ANTM recaps. In the meantime, for me at least, your brilliant writing and video editing on Kitty Pride, etc. will suffice to suck up my free time with quality web time.

I love your blog and can't wait until Monday to read your recap of ANTM!
I knew from the first (OMG!I love Tyra! OMG!) shriek from the first girl to get reviewed by Tyra Inc. and crew, that this was going to be a rollercoaster of a season... (Speaking of which... did you notice that her chilling shriek sounded a lot like the scream from the Ohio Players oldie "Love Rollercoaster"{urban legend scream that was supposedly from a real girl dying from an actual rollercoaster}? ….)
Posted by: Leinohr | February 21, 2008 at 02:38 AM
"Stray dog off the streets"... potental top model comparing herself to a homeless angry dog... hmmmmm
Posted by: Leinohr | February 21, 2008 at 02:42 AM
Your recaps are always on time, be it Monday, Tuesday or Doomsday. Just travel safe, dress warmly and don't accept rides from strangers. Especially ones who try to show you their pubes!
Hope you treat us to some more video recaps this time, too.

"Breast Milk, Genital Mutilation, Stray Dogs and Ghetto Girls!!!"
that about sums it up!!!
Posted by: Leinohr | February 21, 2008 at 02:48 AM
I love everything about this season. Except Marvita. Didn't like her in round 9, feel she is redundant in round 10.
Posted by: Jessica | February 21, 2008 at 02:57 AM
I think Fatima is very pretty, and I feel for her...well, loss of feeling (squeezing my legs together) but i dont like her stank and arrogant attitude. Also, I really dont like how she feels like she's above the African American girls (I would go into my disgust concerning that more, but i've decided to keep this short). Still, its odd for me because she (whom I'm starting off hating a whole lot... dispite her story of female castration, and her feeling left out)reminds me of one of my favorite contestants ever, Natasha. Both were arrogant, foreign, beautiful and had choppy English accents. I know she'll give great shots, and will no doubt win challenges (and possibly the title of A.N.T.M.), but so far I think it'll take a lot for her to win me over as a fan. Maybe she'll have to keep her mouth shut, smile, walk and pose... and then i'll grow to love her. maybe not. can't wait to find out.

I LOVE STACY-ANN OK
Posted by: frank | February 21, 2008 at 03:53 AM
Again, Amy=Lisa, Version 2.0
Posted by: Kathy | February 21, 2008 at 05:52 AM
"but i dont like her stank and arrogant attitude"
Seriously? Did you miss the part where Fatima was cornered and shrieked at for simply pointing out the logical inconsistancy of somebody proudly proclaiming herself a bitch and then immediately getting offended by the term when used objectively?
Fatima owned that exchange.
Posted by: spazmo | February 21, 2008 at 06:36 AM
Now that I've seen Amy actually move and talk, I have to say that she reminds me of our dear "Eat-A-Cookie" Lisa.
Posted by: rosa musumeci | February 21, 2008 at 07:09 AM
I'm going to have to second this statement..
weirdest first episode ever. they just get trashier and trashier...and weirder and weirder...
I do not have high expectations for this season.
Posted by: Raignn | February 21, 2008 at 09:15 AM
What was Fatima saying about FGM in the beginning? I caught "traditional" but did she say "positive" or something that just sounded like it? I couldn't catch it and it didn't make sense. I also understand where she's coming from with her ghetto comments.
Otherwise, I have to say it: I think I hate Marvita. She's going to make mean muppet bitch from last cycle seem like an angel.
Why am I watching this again? ;)
Posted by: yggy | February 21, 2008 at 09:22 AM
As excited as I am about this season and the hilarious antics that are destined to occur (hello, there's a girl drinking her own breast milk on the show), I'm so not liking Marvita the Dinosaur. Not happy that she's back. And Dominique has the Jaslene syndrome. Or Coryn syndrome. Either way, I'll be questioning her gender all season.
Looking forward to Monday!

Stacy is AWESOME. I hope Claire wins it all!!! She's amazing.
Posted by: Melanie | February 21, 2008 at 09:44 AM
Anyone read the NY Post the other day where Paulina Porizkova said none of the girls from ANTM will ever be REAL models? And then admitted she plans to say as much on the show! A casting person supposedly said that's why they hired her, to be the "next Janice". Can't wait for the stank! Don't mince words Paulina!
Posted by: scorzi | February 21, 2008 at 09:46 AM
More than once this episode, I turned away from embarassment. I was embarassed for them even if they weren't for themselves.
And yes, Fatima said that FGM was a tradition in her village and it was treated as a very positive thing...and then the tears came, and they came. I am sorry she went through what she did, but girlfriend ain't stupid, she is going to milk this harder than the chick pumping her breast.
Posted by: Lea | February 21, 2008 at 09:58 AM
That girl that was all like "I slept with your boyfriend" to Tyra, (Allison I think?), totally reminded me of Sara Silverman.
Posted by: Nikita | February 21, 2008 at 10:54 AM
Seriously? Did you miss the part where Fatima was cornered and shrieked at for simply pointing out the logical inconsistancy of somebody proudly proclaiming herself a bitch and then immediately getting offended by the term when used objectively?
no, i didn't miss that part when she called the other girl a bitch (after the other girl admited that she could be a bitch). I wouldn't call it cornered, since it was 1 on 1, and they both looked like idiots... but the other girl (whoms name escapes me) had a right to be angry with Fatima. Fatima isn't the victim... she started that drama by calling the other girls ghetto when nobody asked her for her opinion. (she complains that she always felt left out with AAG's, but she may be alienating herself by being too stuck up, self-righteous and judgemental) Then while girl was trying to call her on it while admiting that she could be bitchy herself, Fatima called her a bitch to her face over and over again - soooo, yeah, i think the shrieking was called for in that case. She's lucky thats all she got. Fatima is beautiful, but she was just as childish as the rest of them... and yup... i still dont like her right now. but like i said, we'll see, maybe she'll grow on me.
Posted by: Leinohr | February 21, 2008 at 11:10 AM
All I could think of when I watched the premiere was what is Rich thinking now. Maybe I watch this shite just to feel close to you. (Did I just bust out a Carpenters lyric? Yikes.)
I thought last night's episode was fairly good actually and I liked at least half the girls. Maybe I'm trying desperately to be optimistic after the douche nozzle that was last cycle. One of them reminded me of Victoria (my lone bright spot in of last cycle) but I can't remember their names yet and anyways she'll be gone prolly before I learn it.

Woot! Knew I could count on you for a small hit of ANTM Rich-ness this morning, and so thank you thank you! Also just caught your Pot Psychology vids on Jezebel and nearly peed my pants laughing at you two. Travel safe, Rich!
Posted by: Deborah | February 21, 2008 at 11:58 AM
Stacy-Ann looks like she should have been cast in Men in Black rather than ANTM. There's something very...extraterrestrial about her. Like a succubus from Alpha Centauri.
Either way, America's Next Train Wreck rolls on.
Posted by: SWS | February 21, 2008 at 11:59 AM
I'm not feeling any of the people this season.
Especially Kimberly. Ew. But I can see why they picked her. She totally has that Gemma Ward doll-face/alien look down.
I wish the Impala Chick had made it, then maybe she could show off her ride in the Cover Girl commercials during Cycle 11!
Posted by: coteking | February 21, 2008 at 12:04 PM
I should have known other people would have seen the Sara Silverman resemblance...that's all I could think about the whole time.
Posted by: Courtney | February 21, 2008 at 12:28 PM
WOW, this season will be like a car wreck that I can't stop watching. I seriously cannot believe that they couldn't find better girls than the pack of crap they had. And yet, I won't be able to turn away because of the tragedy of it all. It's hard to say exactly, but I think I was most appalled by the punk girl with the walk like she couldn't feel her feet...I refuse to remember her name, all I could think of was, how on earth did she get through the screening process, let alone into the finals???
Posted by: B | February 21, 2008 at 12:36 PM
Oh and PS...the Saliesha Cover Girl commercial made me vomit all over the place. That's the one thing that might make me not watch the show...the fact that I know I will see a Saliesha commercial every time...YUCK.
Posted by: B | February 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM
The girl that's tried out 8 times.
Most. Pathetic. Person. Ever.
Being rejected 8 times by a television modeling competition is not inspirational. Kill her.

I totally agree that it seems they pick some bottom of the barrel chicks every season and I cram to understand the foolishness of it all. That punk rock chick and the little blond? They couldn't walk for shyt, are you kidding me!
Will reserve judgment on the rest-but I thought Saleisha looked better-back to normal in the CG shots and folks really need to get over her winning already-shine on Saleisha, shine on!

DO DO DO DO DOOO..
I got Stacey-Ann love.
And Amy? I completely agree with everyone who says she's Lisa version 2.
Kimberly is like Kathleen (c8) but slower.
Allison = Sarah Silverman.
Fatima has a Yaya personality.. which I'm sure Tyra will break down.

Lauren = Martha Plimpton. Remember Goonies? That's her. No joke, she is a dead ringer.

Sorry Leinohr - but Ghetto & B-tch are understatements for that ho.
Stacey, anyone else totally see Robin Givens?
Claire ??? really someone thinks she's pretty? but then again "model pretty" can be an oxymoron
I agree with LisaL about Marvita - except (kind of) how can anyone say Dominque looks tranny with Marvita not even looking like a tranny but a robotic dude?
Posted by: ASK | February 21, 2008 at 06:59 PM
I got the Sarah Silverman too. Anybody see Julia Stiles in Claire?

Leinohr: I get the sneaking suspicion that you're one of them Ghetto Bitches yourself.
Fatima FTW. She's gorgeous, and the touch of arrogance does no harm, imo. Give me an articulate, intelligent, slightly arrogant woman over a holier-than-fucking-thou Robin (c1) anyday.
Posted by: Neha | February 22, 2008 at 12:18 AM
And yeah, LOVED Bitchgate. Fatima owned that one. The other girl totally did herself in. Ghetto, classless and shrieky - exactly like Fatima called it. Hee hee.

WHEN THINGS DONT GET ANY DRAGGIER, TYRA BUSTS OUT THE HOMECOMING.
well. allison reminds me of a hot+skinny version sarah silverman.
domonique = coryn + estrogen + old
'...marvita is a little from jaslene...'
i dont know what the difference is, but i do know the similarity of a penis.

I just need to say this:
Stacy-Ann looks like a koopa.
Posted by: wow | February 22, 2008 at 01:27 AM

Posted by: Lea
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Thanks, Lea. It was the "treated as" part I didn't catch, so it makes sense now.
I still think I will be hating Marvita. No, hate is too strong. She's just too angry (crazy eyed angry) and needs more of that therapy. This may be the last cycle I can stomach. Paulina P. is going to be the one saving grace, I fear.
Posted by: yggy | February 22, 2008 at 02:22 AM
Leinohr: I get the sneaking suspicion that you're one of them Ghetto Bitches yourself.
why? because I dont like Fatima? I gave no clue as to what my race was... for all you know, I could be a 40 year old white man! Why dont you lighten up. You can like anyone you want on this overly edited fake supermodel show, but you dont have to sling anything my way, since i've done nothing to you. I didn't like Fatima because she called all of the African American girls Ghetto in a negative way, but you love her because she's beautiful with a sad story. If someone called all African girls Poor Hut makers, you'd get your panties in a bunch wouldn't you? (I know I'd be offended by that remark as well, no matter what my own race is ;) ...)... but its ok to talk down to AA's just because they dance and sing because they are on ANTM? What makes Fatima better then the rest anyway (besides her beauty... which i've never denied?).
Posted by: Leinohr | February 22, 2008 at 08:12 AM
Give me an articulate, intelligent, slightly arrogant woman over a holier-than-fucking-thou Robin (c1) anyday
besides, Fatima isn't any more articulate, intelligent (if you're on ANTM and think that you are really going to be some real top model... for real, how intelligent could you be?) or arrogant (half of the women on that show are arrogant to a fault) than any other woman on that show. And actually, the exact vibe that i got from Fatima was indeed "holier-than-thou"... imagine that (thanks Jade).
Posted by: Leinohr | February 22, 2008 at 08:32 AM
I was a little disturbed that I saw the Frodo-Kucinichness in Claire, too. It is impossible to explain why, but it *does* exist, and I feel so much better now that it was mentioned. Although she was looking *very* Catherine Keener-esque towards the end of the episode.

Leinohr >>
"Leinohr: I get the sneaking suspicion that you're one of them Ghetto Bitches yourself."
"why?" Because you came off sounding like that and ignored the fact that that skank who flipped out and flailed and had to be held back with her SOOOO WAYYYYY over the top reaction.
You wrote "I gave no clue as to what my race was" & "I could be a 40 year old white man" sounds defensive and most likely
means that you are not - because YES a 40 y.o. white man CAN act or sound like a "ghetto B"

Posted by: Your Mom | February 22, 2008 at 10:52 AM
why?" Because you came off sounding like that and ignored the fact that that skank who flipped out and flailed and had to be held back with her SOOOO WAYYYYY over the top reaction.
The fact that I ignored the “skank” that flipped out meant nothing, and it certainly isn't a reason to call me “ghetto” or a “bitch”. I didn't post about all of the other characters on the show that I didn't like nor go one by one listing their bad behavior simply because that isn’t my job. Yeah, that girl lost it and made herself look foolish (which I said earlier if you were paying attention), and i didn't write about it because if i write about that, then i'd have to write about allll of the other mundane crazy things that all of the contestants did on that episode… (and I leave that up to Rich… that’s obviously why I come here). I simply narrowed it down, and pointed out that I didn’t like this one character, and you jump on me. There are others that I didn’t like, but I didn’t remember their names, so they didn’t get mentioned.
And how did I sound Ghetto? How does one stating an opinion sound ghetto? Explain that to me. Is it because I went against popular opinion, and showed my dislike for a character? Did I use bad English, or throw up signs in my post? Did I forget to use a comma, or did I put in too many commas,,,?Did I drop it like it was hot in my post? Did I say “pop off” once in my post? Did I give shout outs to “Pookie, Ray Ray, N dem” at the end of my post? I simply stated that I didn’t like one girl and why… and you got offended enough to go grade school on me and insinuate that I was a bitch, and a ghetto one at that. Not once did I attack the girl on ANTM or anyone on this blog, yet I was attacked. And shouldn’t I be defensive when, out of left field, someone calls me a bitch (I mean, aren’t you showing your defensive nature by even responding to me? Isn't it immature to call someone a bitch, just because you didn't agree with them?) Still, despite how you choose to interpret my posts, you won’t know my age, sex or race unless I flat out tell you, and really, it shouldn't matter anyway. So why don’t we both act like it is indeed hot, and then drop it and leave the immature cattiness to the girls on the show.

Marvita is heinous.

Did anyone else notice that there is a massive amount of girls on this season that look a lot like past contestants/winners? I saw a Nicole, a Dani(elle), a lisa. They even have personality-alikes to Natasha and Nenna. And they threw everything into the first episode! Female castration, bitchiness followed by a make-up, cliche after cliche. its like the whole season was wrapped up into the one episode. I dont know if Im excited or disappointed.
Posted by: Kaylyn | February 22, 2008 at 03:52 PM
I am 99% positive that Marvita = Chris Rock
::::::::::::::::::
YES!! I knew she reminded me of someone.
The recaps are going to be the only thing that makes this season bearable.
Posted by: yggy | February 22, 2008 at 04:12 PM
"Tyra, she's so.. special!" to shots of Tyra looking like a retarded prom queen. That made the episode for me.
Posted by: Toothy Tile | February 22, 2008 at 05:41 PM
I don't see Lisa in Amy at all.. Lisa was gross, Amy's just crazy.
Fatima = Nnenna
Dominique = Coryn
Stacy-Ann = Dani
Kristen? = Norelle
Atalya = Felicia
Aimee = Brooke c7
Anya = Natasha
Shaya Ali = Tatiana Ali as Ashley on the Fresh Prince
Posted by: Carley | February 22, 2008 at 06:07 PM
I don't know. I thought Dominique in an oddly ironic way looked like the love child of both Lisa and Coryn. Other than that, I can remember none of them yet and it's better that way because once I like a modelette, Tyra kicks her off. Oh, and I didn't see Saleisha's commercial because I watched the posting on You Tube. I hate commercials mixed in with my melodrama and, quite frankly, the only person who I thought did a stellar job at it was Eva.
Posted by: Easter Buffy | February 23, 2008 at 03:23 AM
Love love Marvita.
She is so Grace Jones. But maybe not very versatile. She cant be Tyra. But definitely an Omahyra in the making if they allow her.
Did I mention before that Andrea fr Cycle 6 is now rocking the runway as an androgyne called Debevc? Check the fashion week photos. Im so proud.
Posted by: Fendie | February 23, 2008 at 04:33 AM
some of the girls really do look alike, kristen looka like norrelle (C3) and jayla (C5)
i was suprised they didnt mention it on the show,
also, katar whatever, the shape of her face reminds me of anchal (C7)

Posted by: Anne | February 23, 2008 at 11:52 AM
HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, is Stacey-Ann annoying!! Kudos to her though for accomplishing what was previously thought impossible, namely acting more queer and immature than Saleisha.
And holy shit, she looks like a crossbreed of alien + fetal kitten. Hopefully Tyrant will give her a cueball makeover like Biyanka so as to increase her extraterrestrial FUG exponentially.
Posted by: Jennifer | February 23, 2008 at 03:11 PM
take your own advice, and stop being so immature.
Posted by: Leinohr | February 23, 2008 at 04:13 PM
Is no one going to mention the annoyingness of Anya's voice? She sounds like way more of a deaf girl than Jaslene.
Posted by: Lily | February 23, 2008 at 09:52 PM
THANK FUCKING GOD IT'S BACK. I watch this god forsaken show purely for your recaps the following week.
Posted by: Rissa | February 23, 2008 at 11:04 PM
WTF is wrong with Anya? Girl is from Hawaii, yet she can barely speak English. Natasha had better command of the English language than this chick.
Posted by: bell | February 24, 2008 at 12:19 AM
Leinohr, watching America's Next Top Model and leaving about twenty comments about who you like, don't like, may like, may not like, don't like now but may like later and so forth doesn't exactly make you terribly mature either. So just relax and don't be so uptight. And I'm done, Biyanka style!

since when did i leave 20 comments about who i like or dont like? i remember spending most of my time on here responding to posts directed at me. even if i did leave 20 comments about the show, whats wrong with that? isn't this one of many platforms to do so? (which is one reason why we all love this site) you dont have to agree with me or like what I say, but just because you dont agree with me, it doesn't mean i'm uptight. you're the one who got sensitive when i said i didn't like Frodo, or whatever her name was. Your the one pointing fingers and calling people names. Even when I tried to truce it and said we should both just drop it (and I tried to be as lighthearted as I could), you chose to fan the flames again. This is stupid. i'll just ignore you from now on because i cant reason with you.

Your banner amuses me, because in Swedish, sheep = får, which is pronounced like 'four'. So 'fourfour' = 'fårfår' = 'sheepsheep'! I don't know. It just amused me. I think I'm high.

Leinohr is a dumb bitch. A ghetto dumb bitch.

Wow, some people take posting comments here WAY too seriously! Come on, people, it's all in fun! Isn't that why we watch shows like ANTM, anyway?
On a side note, I'd like to give a quick shout-out to my people who write with proper grammar. Woot-woot -- I mean doo-doo-doo-de-doo!

Please, people, be sweet and respect the grammar. For f*cking sake, don't you know it's Lent? Be nice! F*CK!

Pfff...please I don't know how African-American girls think it's appropriate to go on national television and think it's a bonus to show how crass and uneducated you are by being loud, raucous, shaking your ass and using slang.
That's not proper, that's now how African girls are raised. As one myself, I thought they were making a fool of themselves, and I applaud Fatima for calling them on it. When you are in front of the world the one thing you should keep in mind, is making your kin proud, no matter what, or representing your high school, and alma matter, whatever group you associate yourself to.
Those girls, especially the one who felt labeling herself as a 'bitch' was an okay thing to do, had no right to flip when they were called on their bullshit. If you act ghetto, don't flip when you're called on it. WHat should Fatima had said instead? "wow, you girls are acting classy?" DO you think they were?
What is this business of praising and promoting crass and negative behaviors? How did that Ali girl's parents think of their daughter shaking her ass like a common stripper on TV? Jesus.

I couldn't agree more, Armandresdin!

I cringed when Fatima had words with that girl, but not because she was wrong. Because she exercised a lack of judgment. Being right isn't enough in these situations-- you have to know what's going to piss off a load of psychotic, insecure-yet-conceited young women, and try to avoid it if you don't want them all to hate you. And calling them ghetto bitches isn't going to gain favor. Thank goodness that self-professed ghetto girl (what was her name? Shamydra? Something like that) didn't make it to the next round.

Not every African American girl represents black females. I'm tired of having to be everyone's role model. It's as if you can't be yourself because someone is goignt o look at you in aegative view. I have an education and I don't think I need to promote that every time I'm around someone because that wouild be arrogant. I am also not going to stop dancing at a party because someone thinks I will look foolish. There were white girls acting a fool as well and did a white female stand up and say stop you are making us look bad. Please people need to see that African American come in many shapes, forms, and personalities as does the next woman. If we want to be treated equally then we need to see representation equally. Not everyone is an Angela Bassett, someone who shows no emotion is is always strong. We are people too.

Okay, the girl's name was Shalynda. The same one who auditioned eight times before.
And yes, being loud and obnoxious is not exactly classy no matter what color you are.

Ah but see Armandresdin, this is where you, your sidekick Anne, and your sister from another mother, Fatima, have it twisted. First of all over-editing notwithstanding, people throw this term "ghetto" around way too much, its entirely overused and inappropriately applied most of the time in popular speak. How many people have first generation relatives who grew up in so-called ghettos in this country? A helluva lot, check the facts. The later used term "ghetto" was negatively associated with anyone coming from these areas that were considered 'low class.' Today, everyone uses it on everything to the point where they really come off as ignorant for using it. If Fatima has a hard time with people who look like her its because Fatima has chosen to isolate herself like so many who have come before her, in the hopes of distinguishing herself from a group of people who have been marginalized at best and grossly discriminated against at worst. Its the natural order of divide and conquer at work. For those who don't know I suggest you read up and ask somebody. What many arrogant Africans fail to realize is how they are negatively portrayed throughout history as well.
All in all, it would serve due justice if we had more unity in the community and less concern for who is going to take up that spot at the bottom of the racial pie.

And true dat dig: no one says a word when some of the white girls are dancing and being loud and obnoxious-they are just being themselves of course.
Co-sign Gretchen, lack of class crosses all racial and ethnic barriers.
ENOUGH OF THIS TOPIC.

Oh, by the way (and sorry for posting so much) it was Shaya who Fatima argued with initially, but then also Shaya who felt most compassion when Fatima explained about how she had been circumcised. It even got to the point where it seemed that Fatima was comforting Shaya, more than the other way around.
And yes, Allison is very evocative of Sarah Silverman. Except that I actually like her, so far.
As for Claire-- if there's something wrong with her for being willing to drink breast milk, then there's something wrong with babies who are willing to do the exact same thing. Do you really want to go there?

This has nothing to do with arrogance, and the difference between black people from Africa or America. It has to do with the fact that these dark skinned girls, who are American, as in African American, went on TV and behaved in a manner that might not be seen as appropriate by a lot of people.
If that Ali woman can shake her ass like that in front of her mother, her grandmother, and father and they say nothing about her behavior then it has more to do with the environment in which she was raised, than anything else. African girls, born into america often adopt these outlandish behaviors, certain slangs and what not that are directly associated with the african american culture because they want to belong, and really that is their choice.
But just because Fatima chose to call those girls out on their outlandish behavior has nothing to do with arrogance, it has to do with DIGNITY. One does not go on national television, and display the worse of manners. That is low, and crass. You can be yourself, but in a controlled manner, when you are in highly public situations.

um, to each it's own. there's more important things people should be worried about. if people want to exploit themselves on 'fake reality' t.v, then so be it. it's only hurting them. besides it makes for some great entertainment right? so stop complaining. or stop supporting it by turning it on every wed. night.
