Two weeks ago, I received an email from a woman who said her five-year-old daughter is obsessed with Winston. She said that found him via Cuteoverload and follow him mostly on YouTube, so any anxiety I had about corrupting a babe with my foul mouth and fouler mind was immediately quelled. Anyway, she said her daughter, Ramona (best name for a child ever!) wrote a book about Winston and she wanted to send it to him. So she did and oh my god, it's so amazing. First of all, here's the cover letter:
Lollipop-head cat! I don't even know what that means, but I love it! It makes me want to lick my cat's face! Anyway, full scans of this new literary masterpiece are after the jump:
This is so awesome for, like 500,000 reasons (the fact that this five-year-old can draw consistently over five pages, Winston's little dark spot being noted, his Calgon-take-me-away bath stance, etc.), but my favorite thing about it is the last page. I don't think this is Ramona's precious way of saying that Winston takes after his daddies -- it's pure imagination and perhaps wishful thinking. I remember when I had imagination and wishes! I kinda wish Ramona were running the show here -- Winston might be a lot more active and exciting if that were the case.
I'm not so sure that he agrees, though.

unrelated to this post, which is delightful:
the intro to whitney houston's "how will i know" was playing on my itunes when i opened up fourfour to check for updates. please experience what it looks like to watch your brad pitt gif dance to this song. because i watched it for at least half of the song, and it is perfect. and amazing.

Great job Ramona, and I love your name! I am not impartial though. Keep writing and I have to give everyone kudos for spelling Ramona correctly!!
Yipee!

The last picture is definitely the best thing in the universe.

I love Winston's little belly and want to nom his widdle paws. Ramona is fucking awesome and I hope that somehow she knows that now, she too has a mini fandom.
Also, Emily (from a couple of posts up) I took your suggestion to heart and have been hypnotized by the sound of suggery sweat pre-insane Whitney of my childhood with the visuals of Brad bopping to the beat. FUCKING GENIUS!

Oh my God! What a delighful little girl. And I agree, she has a great name. LOL so do I!!! She'd love my house too. I have 9 kitties. Of course, none are Winston, but I do have a Julie who could qualify for a close second. Without appearing to stalker-ish, I'd love to correspond with her.

I don't care if Ramona's mom did the whole thing (although I tend to think it was all Ramona - my sister had great caps-writing when she was five/six, me not so much) - it's fucking rad, and it made my day, and it just needs to exist. So thanks to whoever made that possible. And now I will go die from the cuteness of Winston and his book.

I think my favorite thing about this is how happy Winston looks to be hating to take a bath.
Kinda sorta couldn't love that girl more if I tried.

That just made my day! It makes me want to call my friends and tell them all to read this new book.
Winston rocks!

It's all been said. That is too adorable!

Rich I think you touch more lives than 1000 differently abled Top Models. Could you have a more diverse fan base? I love also how she interprets Winston's scowls as happy and more happy.

awwwww! lollipop head cat I love you!! Cutest thing ever!

If you look carefully you can see Mum did the writing for the text, and Ramona wrote out her own contributions as well. The initial 'Iam5' is hers as well as the 'I love you, ramona', 'By Ramona', and 'The End'.
The drawings as well are obviously by a rather talented and creative 5 year old.
I say, no conspiracy, just a helpful Mummy writing out the dictated text for her daughter to illustrate.
And very cute and clever, too!

Long Live Winston and Lollipop Head Cat!

I'm grinning from ear to ear here. How freakin adorable! Ramona is made of awesome! I don't think there's a more perfect way to describe Winston than 'lollipop-head cat'. My heart just exploded.

OMG I haven't laughed this hard in awhile. I love the last picture the best! He looks SO disapproving. Like, "Seriously?!" I love Winston so much!!!!

Gawd, that made my day.

Came over here from Cute Overload. That's just precious that a 5 year old wrote you a story about winston...although I think what's even better is Winston's reaction to it.

Oh my god. I am dying. The first picture of Winston looking at the book literally almost killed me, and I was close to death after reading "lollipop-head cat". Great post.

Ooh. You might want to put Ramona's "Winston" on a shirt, too. That's so awesome!

So good. What a sweet book!

Ramona is a star!

It is my understanding that a lolipop head person is one who's head is disproportionate to their body... as in bigger. Rich, you should clone your cat ... you would be a gazillionare.
