And so, it has come to this: I have set up a Twitter account. I'm not documenting the minutiae of my daily activities or particularly invested in the quasi-social-networking aspect of the site (i.e. I'm not there to make friends!). I'm merely using it to keep track of all the songs that get stuck in my head as I go about my day. This is an attempt to exorcise musical demons and/or to share my pain with the world. I'm called songsstuck, so add me if you're into that sort of thing. Like a tramp in the night, I'm begging for you! I pledge to always (or almost always) have a picture of Sam Fox as my background, since she's never far from consuming my thoughts and desires. So that alone is worth it, right?
Also, on the topic of Sam, I found the "Touch Me (I Want Your Body)" 12" for 50 cents this weekend. Fifty cents! One man's trash is another man's beloved trash. My favorite mix is the "Alternative Version," with its stripped-down arrangement and agitated beat (it's like one big synth drum roll). The link in that last sentence is a download link, so grab it. I promise you it will turn you on.

Well thanks alot. I was avoiding Twitter like the plague, cuz I know I will get sucked into its black hole, but now, I have to register, just for you (not in a Damien's Nanny type of way).
Way cool....
Julie

Has your love for Samantha Fox led you to Gunther yet?
Because if not...

Hey Rich you should use blip.fm so we can listen to the songs that are stuck in your head.

A few years ago I visited Edinburgh and I saw a vintage set of Sam Fox pillow cases for sale in a charity shop.
I desperately wanted to buy them, but I knew I didn't want them for myself and I couldn't think who amongst my friends might truly appreciate such a gift.
Would that I had read FourFour back then, because, if so Rich, I promise they would have been yours.

@sumares is now following you! I also was going to suggest Blip.fm for your song posts. Check it out! (Will Winston have his own Twitter account in the near future?) =^..^=

My husband convinced me to join Twitter so no one else could use my name. How's that for inspiration?
Posted by: Miss Lisa | May 05, 2009 at 11:39 PM
Rich, any chance you could post the other tracks? Thanks, Paddy

You know what? I set up a Twitter account yesterday, too! And you know what else? I actually came by your site to see if you had a twitter feed. And you didn't have one. So I come back today and I find you do!
True story.
@seppi12, btw.

I think I could listen to this and "Two of hearts" on repeat. Until I died.

Is that the "but the pants stay on" song? Because that was a bit on the Never Mind the Buzzcocks tape a British friend recorded for me.... just 10 seconds of song, alas.
Maybe it's a different one, but it was definitely Samantha Fox.

Cool. I'm new to Twitter. So far it's been like lame emo rambling from me, but whatever. It'll be fun to follow your playlist

After seeing a PJ's episode recently, I've had "Milk Milk Lemonade Around The Corner Fudge Is Made" stuck in my head endlessly. My own personal non-existing WIP remix no less. ugh. Apparently it IS an actual song?! covered by artists such as Jason Mraz, YouTube told me. He's somehow sexually attractive to me when de does it. The weirdness never ends.

I have this 12" too. My copy has a DJ note on it that says "Blue remix is quite nice" under which someone else scrawled "and so is the back cover...mmmm" On the back cover, the second prankster drew a tiny stick figure clinging to the precipice of Samantha's rock hard nipple. He even included motion lines indicating that the stick figure was gently rocking to and fro.
After reflecting on that back cover shot for a moment, I have come to the conclusion that Samantha taught Mimi everything she ever wanted to know about wearing cutoffs and more.

All I can say is Samantha Fox is such a wild dame (but what's in a name?)
Oh, and goddamn it I was resisting the Twitter so well up till now.
