More Saturday love

I'm not trying to overdo the freestyle thing, but I'd be remiss if I didn't share the biggest source of joy in my life for the past week: Stevie B's "Spring Love" video.

Quite possibly the single most beautiful and haunting piece of audio-visual art I've ever seen, it is a tale of yearning, humidity and second-wave electro. You'll marvel at the feats of dramatic skill and hair products, alike. Try not to get too emotional, OK?

And just in case you aren't convinced, here are a few of my favorite moments:

Springlove

Aaaannnndddd, since you can never have enough Stevie B in your life, here's my favorite of his non-singles, "I Came To Rock Your Body," from his '88 masterpiece In My Eyes. The rare boogie-oriented Stevie B track (more D-Train than Bambaataa, thanks to the full-bodied synth overload), "I Came To Rock Your Body," proves that he's not just a genius, but also versatile. And I looooooove vers guys.

Beyond hot! Way beyond!

AHH.. My mom used to listen to freestyle all day when I was a kid. Freestyle has a special place in my heart. :)

Cool video and even more awesome hairdo!!! It's been forever since I have seen this. I remember staying up late on Friday nights and watching music videos. This was one of them I remember!!! Ah young love. Thanks for taking me back!!! Good times man, good times.

I finally go a chance to show my bf why I love fourfour! He doesn't share my interest in ANTM, Bobby and Whit, or ProjRun, but he loves him some Stevie B. That video and especially your highlights made our weekend!

I think he looks absolutely creepy/silly when trying to reach for her on the beach (they show the same clip about 6 times in the vid, and I see you also featured in your montage. ) But my favorite shot is Mr. B leaning very uncomfortably it seems against that tree in those short red pre-baywatch shorts.

Thanks for posting this and reminding us all of those spring loving days..

wow. sadly, i know all the words to every single stevie b. song. (i was a freestyle queen back in the day - and i still love to listen to it every now and then). what's even more sad - stevie b. and lisa lisa were here (austin, tx) last summer in concert.
