On the heels of the recent rerun of my This American Life segment all about by I'm Not Here To Make Friends supercuts comes footage of a performer who goes by the name of Otter Pop lip synching a portion of the first I'm Not Here To Make Friends video. It's really weird! I don't know how many more layers of media you can pack into a performance (from original TV airings to supercut to stage)...maybe if he were transcribing it or tweeteing as he went along? It starts at the 1:22 mark in the clip above (the embedded video should be cued to that spot). I think that we can all agree that being lip synched to by a dude wearing a bow in his hair at a place called the Bacon Strip is the highest level of flattery. [Thanks for the tip, Avi - link NSFW]
Hmmm. Gosh, I hate being a spoilsport. But, no wonder everyone started cheering at the beginning of the "Cheers" song. For a few blissful seconds, Otter Pop stopped entertaining, and things could only go up from there. Yipes. That was some really bad lip-synching. I'm glad you feel flattered, anyway, Rich.

HA! Loved that bandana move at the end: Pink bandana on the right = "This party's over."

Sociology can teach us how to be more open minded about issues going on in the world today. It shows us and attempts to teach us how to live in the “what if” moment and not always have the attitude of “oh it wont happen to me.” Sociology also teaches us how to look past the different cultures other than our own to see how humans are affected by a disaster like Hurricane Katrina.

Gawsh! Thanks, Rich... I feel more overexposed than Snookie, but truly honored! xoxo, Otter.

I can totally see this cute, funny, sexy act (and I watched it from the beginning) performed on the Love Boat, during those final couple seasons where they had the Love Boat Mermaids dance troupe. Zsa Zsa would applaud. Scott Baio would make googly eyes at Kristy McNichol. Bowser from Sha Na Na would flex his biceps and drool. Julie the Cruise Director would do coke. Oh, and Gopher would get a boner.

Last night as I was driving home from work, I thought of you when I heard this on NPR: "Rhee wasn't interested in making friends but in fixing a dysfunctional school system." Who knew how influential that phrase would become! http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130543317

Was it me though or was the lipsyncing kind of spotty? Eh, who gets performance art? (I did go see Karen Finley in college and she was fantastic though, for the record.)
This must have been so weird for you to watch. So, you must be a meme several times over now, yes?

Yes, Bacon Strip (a drag show that serves freshly fried bacon during intermission) definitely has it's moments. The lip-synching is usually off, and the drag queens are occasionally wasted, but when it's amazing, it's AMAZING!

The bacon strip is the ridge that runs along the underside of a mans testicles and up between the balls themselves.

The young man had no obligation to stroke my ego. I took it in stride, but the shop girl selling cosmetics, asking you if they had Clinique in the stone ages...she could use a copy of "customer service for dummies."

I have two main comments--first, that these arguments seem to me to be "deja vu all over again," meaning that that are pretty much the same (basic) arguments made against a common US currency among the states in our past.

item with other clothes (by the way all the clothes are usually taken from our items that we have) and try to see what you already own that you can add to this in the same way.

Nice. Beautifully written. I'm not married, but I have moved a lot and found I could relate. Some places were harder to say goodbye to than others.
