Tonight, we get to watch the best idea in the history of television unfurl. I've been waiting for this moment since I read last year that Bobby Brown was shopping around a reality show about himself. He had to shop it? Really? Isn't everyone in the world in agreement that Being Bobby Brown is at least worth a shot (if not, say, unquestioning devotion)? I mean, does the fucked-uption get any more high profile than Bobby and Whitney? They transcend the A list because they're SO DAMN HIGH. Whatever. At least Bravo had the sense to pick it up and run it.
I can't wait! Bobby couldn't even keep it together during the New Edition Behind the Music and that was a sit-down interview. In one room. On one day.
Don't you love that (crazy) man?
While I look forward to laughing at him, I give Bobby credit for not really wavering in his public persona (at the most, his craziness changes only in its intensity). Back in the day, he was very much the ladies' man...
...the belligerent badass...
...and the style god he is today.
More fun with pictures:
Mugshots!
Shots from that wacky trip to Israel he and Whitney took!
I'm going to document Being Bobby Brown with screen-cap heavy recaps. Someone's gotta take all this down.
I'm also sharing two of my favorite tracks from my favorite Bobby album, Dance! ...ya know it. Best remix album ever. Unfortunately, I had to rip these from vinyl (sorry for the skip in "Roni!" It hurts me more). My CD version seems to have gone missing at the worst time possible. That ain't right.
Bobby Brown "Roni (Remix)"
Bobby Brown "Don't Be Cruel (Remix)"
Whatever. Enjoy. But especially, enjoy Being Bobby Brown. Or just wait and I'll enjoy it for you and then show you pictures of how enjoyable it was. Your call.
